Keep the kiddos busy for hours at Neil Hawkins Park, with ground-level play equipment including musical items and seesaws - perfect for toddlers and those in their early years of primary school. If they're not yet swing set enthusiasts, a visit to the jetty to spot some ducks and swans is a must. Or, pack a picnic, snag a shelter or gas BBQ, and enjoy the open grassed areas. With restrooms nearby, it's got everything you need for a hassle-free summer day with the fam. 

3. For the fitness fanatics

Calling all fitness lovers. Or those who need that extra little bit of motivation to start. Ever heard of the Lake Joondalup parkrun? It's a free, weekly community run that takes place every Saturday at 8am. Whether you're an avid runner, jogger (or enthusiastic walker), the parkrun provides a great opportunity to get to know your neighbours, take in the views, and get your fitness regime going with a 5km loop by the lake. Win-win (and another win).
