Liveability at Providence

At Stockland, we know it takes a lot more than bricks and mortar to create connected, happy communities. Since 1952, we’ve been building communities that bring people together. Spaces filled with energy, soul, and life. Where houses become homes and neighbours become family. All in pursuit of our purpose, a better way to live.

Our annual Liveability Survey is one of the ways we bring this purpose to life. By measuring what matters, we can better understand and design our communities around the things our residents love. From the quality of parks and playgrounds to how community design supports healthy minds and active lifestyles. We recognise, what matters to one person can be very different to the next. That’s why we survey across a diverse range, including belonging, connection, health and fitness, safety, environment, and sustainability.

Earlier this year, Providence residents were invited to complete our 2024 Liveability Survey. The results are in. We’ve listened. And here are some of the initiatives we’ve implemented.

We've listened and here's some of the initiatives we've implemented to make Providence even better.

Enhancing convenience with local shops

The proposed Town Centre will be a community hub for the Providence community with a full-line supermarket, specialty shops, diverse dining options, a gym and a childcare centre. We are also in the process of finalizing an agreement with the supermarket operator, which will ensure residents have access to their everyday necessities.

With approvals granted, this represents a significant step towards establishing a central hub, designed to meet the needs of our residents.

Expanding community Childcare Centres

With two new early learning centres launching at Providence in 2024, we are improving childcare access for families in our community.

Building a more sustainable community

We’re enhancing sustainability through cultural engagement initiatives, designing with country, working on park naming with the YUP group as well as fostering strong relationships to deliver social housing.

We have also submitted a park design to the Council which if approved, will see the delivery of a more inclusive park within Providence in response to community feedback on lack of inclusive play amenities. The park is proposed to be fully fenced to include nature play and sensory activities for kids as well as inclusive play equipment.

An outdoor classroom is currently under construction in Alcove that will feature references to tie the agricultural and cultural history of the land together, set to open March 2025.
