Missed our recent drop-in session? Or attended but want to learn more about the exciting updates at Sienna Wood? Either way - look no further.

16 May 2024

On Wednesday May 15th, the Sienna Wood Sales Office transformed into a hub of community chatter with our drop-in session, where the Sienna Wood team were joined by residents and locals to share some exciting development and community updates (as well as some nibbles and refreshments). If you couldn't make the night (or just want to know a little bit more), we've compiled a wrap-up of all the major conversations from the night - including some handy links to register for classes, read more in news articles, or download useful documents.

Free RSPCA Dog Training

Whether you have a pup (over 13+ weeks) or a senior, these sessions are pawfect for you!

After a short hiatus, our much-loved dog training sessions with RSPCA are back up and running. As a Sienna Wood resident, you have access to unlimited (and free!) 6-week dog training courses - usually $210 for the average joe. Taking place at the Sienna Wood Dog Park, the course includes weekly 50-minute sessions over 6 weeks, where your expert instructor will teach you and your four-legged friend everything from loose-lead walking, to social greetings, fancy tricks and more.

The next course starts this Thursday 16th May, 5-6pm. Find out what you and your pooch can learn, or book a course here

Free Fitness Classes with Live Life Get Active

If you're looking for a way to kickstart your fitness goals, get outdoors, and meet your neighbours - look no further. Our friends over at Live Life Get Active are offering unlimited yoga, boxing, cross-training or stretch and flex classes for residents. The best part? With 45-minute classes running each week day at Shipwreck Park, you can pick and choose sessions to suit your goals, interests and weekly schedule. Just pick one (or five) that work for you.

Hilbert Community Network

If you've seen a few events popping up around Sienna Wood recently - the culprits are the Hilbert Community Network. Organisers of "Autumn Nights" and the "Shipwreck Park Summer Festival" (plus many more to come), the Hilbert Community Network are a Town Team Movement registered, resident-run community group bringing initiatives to life with the aim to improve our community and bring the neighbourhood together. You can check out more about them and their events on their Facebook page, or get in touch - they're actively recruiting new members and supporters!

Government Primary School Opening 2026

We recently announced that Sienna Wood will be getting a primary school. Wungong (Precinct F) Primary School (planning name) is to be located between Brightston, Leighfield & Eleventh. Once filled, the school will be home to 540 students, with the grounds being home to an oval, music room, library, specialist science and art rooms, dental therapy (and much, much more!). With the catchment area yet to be announced, check the Department of Education website for updates, or view the plans for the future primary school while you wait.

Plus, stay in the loop on our steps to the future primary school.

Future Hilbert Town Centre & Forrest Road

Another one we're (very) excited for - our future Sienna Wood town centre! Stage 1, which is set to include a supermarket, specialty shops and food and dining options, is now development approved - a massive tick off the list.

To allow for increased traffic that the centre will bring, a Forrest Road upgrade between Wollaston & Eleventh is required, with the external funding and detour route for this road upgrade currently being finalised. And, while the announcement of timelines and tenants is expected later this year, you can learn more about the steps we're taking to deliver the future town centre here, or check out the approved Stage 1 plans

Planned New Development for FY25

As we speed towards the new financial year (very quickly we might add), we're looking ahead to the areas of planned new development around Sienna Wood for FY25. These areas include:

  • Hillside in Haynes, to the north of Alverson and west of Eighth.
  • Hillside in Haynes, to the east of Eleventh Road, and near to the Evelyn Gribble Community Centre
  • Riverbend in Hilbert, continuing south of Dinosaur Park and to be surrounded by Conservation Areas.

If you need to visualise these areas, check them out on our Sienna Wood masterplan.

Expanding our Green Spaces

At Sienna Wood, we're pretty proud of our 39% green open space - and the fact that's four times the minimum requirement of 10% in new developments. Looking ahead, our Neerigen Brook restoration project continues, spreading west of Pembina Parade. Winter 2025 will see planting take place to ensure maximum survival of seedlings. And, after the successful launch of Dinosaur Park, our playground perfect for toddlers, we're planning a new landscaped park and activity area south of Dino Park - tying into our goal to create spaces for all ages to enjoy at Sienna Wood. Learn more about our open spaces (and find your 'perfect' space) here.
