We've all been stuck in that 'same old, same old' cycle with our weekends. Sometimes a few (too many) times. But, whether you're craving a laidback Sunday lunch, planning to entertain the little ones, or just desperately need some retail therapy - your weekends are about to get a serious makeover at Illyarrie.

Making weekend plans can feel like a brain-teaser sometimes. Especially when there's nothing to do close to home. With Illyarrie conveniently setting up shop in established Sinagra, your "there's nothing to do here" woes are now well and truly behind you. We really mean it when we say we're close to everything - whatever it is you're in the mood for. Now all you need to do is sharpen those decision-making skills.

1. Take a coffee (or cooking) break

In dire need of caffeine? Don't fret - Dome and Café Elixir (plus many more options) are less than 1km away at Wanneroo Central. Choose your favourite, or try them all until you find a place to call your local. If you're in a hurry, why not catch one of the buses down Wanneroo Road? You'll end up right at their doorstep. Or, if a leisurely stroll is on the cards, head down on foot and loop back with your warm takeaway cuppa in hand.

Desperate for a break from cooking? Head up to the local Wanneroo Villa Tavern for some Sunday pub grub instead. With Wanneroo Central right next door, take your pick of burgers, pizza, sushi and more, for whatever vibe you're after - dining in, or a lazy evening takeaway.

2. Hit the waves

Lake Joondalup isn't the only water body nearby. With summer in full swing, and the hot weather here to stay, take your pick with Burns Beach, Iluka Beach, and Mullaloo Beach all within 13km from home. Or, head a little bit further up the coast to Hillary's Boat Harbour for the ultimate day out with the fam. With a safe swimming cove, pontoons and waterslides, a beach playground, and picnic areas, the little ones will be occupied for hours (and ready for a big nap). Head up to the main boardwalk for an afternoon ice cream and you'll have a car full of happy campers all the way home. But, if those 40 degree days make you want to shelter inside with the aircon on full blast, a trip to  AQWA to explore some Sea life might be on the cards instead.

3. Indulge in some retail therapy

It's hard not to be in the mood for shopping after those Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. And, with Christmas around the corner, heading to the shops isn't always a want, but a need. With Wanneroo Central just down the road, getting to and from the shops has never been easier. With over 50 stores to check out, you'll smash out your Christmas shopping (and find a thing or two for yourself). If Wanneroo Central doesn't have that item you're after, Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre is just 9km up the road. How's that for convenience? With over 300 specialty stores, plus food and dining options, you might end up spending the whole day there. If you're looking to extend the shopping day into the evening, a trip to Hoyts Cinemas to catch the latest flick will finish the day off strong.

4. Immerse yourself in the (local) culture

Be a tourist in your own suburb. We're so often on the hunt for the best weekend activity that we sometimes forget about the history around us. A trip down to the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre will change that. Home to the Wanneroo Regional Museum, spend an afternoon browsing stories of the area's development, its Indigenous past and evolution to modern Wanneroo. And, with the Wanneroo Regional Gallery just across the way, check out the latest exhibition for a hit of inspiration from local, national and international artists. Finish your visit with a quick trip to Wanneroo Library for a restock of your next weekend reads.

There's not much (not) to love about Illyarrie. With the convenience of entertainment, shopping and dining options on your doorstep (or just a short drive away), you'll be spoilt for choice for your next weekend plans.
