On Saturday 23 November, the project team and residents of Mt. Atkinson were honoured to be joined by Elder Mark, a representative from Bunurong Land Council to conduct a Welcome to Country to officially open the community's newest park on Clara Avenue. 

The Welcome to Country was a moving way for us to pay our respects to their Elders past, present and support those that are emerging, and presented a chance to learn more about the local land. 

Event attendees continued to enjoy their new space with morning tea and exploring their new park.
