With picturesque mountain views and located 16km from Providence in the town of Purga, is Ironbark Ridge Vineyard. Here you’ll find grape varieties including shiraz, viognier, nebbiolo and merlot. This vineyard also has a fascinating history linked to World War II, as it was used as a training camp for soldiers.

With inspiration from time spent in Italian wine regions, owner Lev Mizikovsky wanted to bring a piece of Italy back home by creating Flinders Peak Winery. Enjoying an incredible Flinders Peak position and complete with villa accommodation, this shiraz-based vineyard offers a wonderful selection of wines and spirits, and is also a favourite wedding venue. The vineyard is 25km from Providence.

If venturing further afield, 55km from Providence are the absolutely stunning vineyards at Hilldale Estate and Bunjurgen Estate, which are also definitely worth exploring. Don’t forget to have a designated driver before heading out to a winery, or better yet, book in to a Winery Tour – there are plenty of options to choose from online.
