The Alcove Outdoor Learning Space
Ripley Valley State School is preparing to introduce a new outdoor learning space for students at The Alcove in Providence, South Ripley. This space promises to be a transformative addition to the school’s educational offerings.
Deputy Principal Tina Jackson, expressed her excitement about the upcoming space, noting the incredible potential it holds for enhancing student learning. The outdoor area will provide a unique setting for students to engage with a wide range of subjects, including mathematics, science, and arts activities.
The project is also rooted in the belief that children have a fundamental right to access natural outdoor environments for play and learning. Jackson emphasized that the outdoor space will be safe, accessible, and user-friendly, with an emphasis on reconnecting children with nature and encouraging them to step away from screens. This space is designed to offer children the opportunity to engage in outdoor play—activities they are naturally inclined to do. This exciting development promises to enhance the learning experience at Ripley Valley State School, creating opportunities for both academic growth and personal development in a natural, dynamic setting.
