Stockland Wendouree teams up with local artist Margie Balazic on vibrant mural project 

Stockland recently revealed an exciting new public art mural at the Wendouree Shopping Centre, created in collaboration with the talented local artist Margie Balazic. This vibrant piece, named 'Wonderous Path,' is a tribute to the spirit of adventure, depicting a modern landscape teeming with vivid flora and fauna, inspiring onlookers to embark on a journey of imagination and discovery. Stevie Wright, the Centre Manager at Stockland Wendouree, expressed immense pride in having the esteemed artist Margie Balazic craft such a stunning and significant piece for the Ballarat community.

“Our centre is more than just a place to shop – it is a place where people come to socialise with friends and family. The installation of this artwork reflects our approach to placemaking and desire to bring people together in a vibrant and interesting centre. The mural pays tribute to the community spirit, and we hope it will bring joy and inspiration to those who visit Stockland Wendouree,” said Ms Wright. 

Artist Margie Balazic said, "it’s a privilege to design within this amazing location. I adored growing up within our wonderful community and have many memorable experiences visiting Stockland Wendouree as a child."

“I hope to entice curiosity, create conversation, and empower the greatest of imagination amongst our beautiful community. Our environment has lots to explore but it’s our community’s compassion that makes an enchanting Ballarat,” Ms. Balazic said.  

Margie Balazic, a Ballarat local, excels in multimedia design and illustration, drawing inspiration from the city's rich history, architecture, and her own adventures growing up there. She places a strong emphasis on the local environment's role in fostering a world of imagination. Visitors are encouraged to view her mural situated near the Centre Management at Stockland Wendouree.
