Stockland is excited to introduce Stockland Nara, a $250 million all-electric medium-density community in Beaconsfield, just three kilometres south of Fremantle and near the iconic South Beach. As the first medium-density precinct in the area, Stockland Nara is set to redefine urban coastal living in Western Australia.

Innovative Design, Sustainable Living

Stockland Nara will feature approximately 206 architecturally designed two- and three-storey townhouses on the corner of Naylor Street and Clontarf Road. Designed by Perth-based Plus Architecture, these homes blend contemporary aesthetics with the character of Beaconsfield, creating a modern yet community-focused living environment.

Northerly Group has been appointed as the builder for Stages 1 and 2, with construction already underway.

A Proven Track Record

Stockland Nara follows the success of Stockland Canopy in Glendalough, Stockland’s first standalone medium-density project in WA, which launched in 2020. Canopy has since earned industry recognition, winning the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s Best Medium Density Development award at the 2022 WA Awards for Excellence.

Designed for a Diverse Community

Stockland General Manager, WA Development, Col Dutton, Stockland Nara is expected to attract a wide range of buyers, from first-home buyers and young families to downsizers and those looking to embrace retirement close to the beach.

“There is a significant market for medium-density housing in the Fremantle region – from first homebuyers to young families, downsizers, and upgraders. Residents will have the vibrant ‘Freo lifestyle’ at their doorstep"

With Fremantle’s best cafes, dining, retail, and entertainment just a short stroll away, and excellent transport links nearby, Stockland Nara offers the perfect balance of urban convenience and coastal charm.

A Masterplan Focused on Liveability

Stockland Nara has been designed with community and sustainability at its core. The masterplan incorporates more than 7,500 square metres of lush public space, fostering a vibrant, green neighbourhood.

With 14 different housing designs and lot sizes ranging from approximately 102 to 168 square metres, there is a home to suit a wide range of lifestyles and preferences.

Inspired by Beaconsfield’s Unique Character

Plus Architecture Director Will Schofield, a Beaconsfield local, shares that the architectural vision for Stockland Nara takes inspiration from the area’s industrial heritage while enhancing the relaxed coastal lifestyle.

“The architectural design draws inspiration from the industrial history of the site and the unique qualities of the local neighbourhood, resulting in a contemporary yet intimately connected extension to the established community,” Mr Schofield said.

What’s Next?

Stockland was granted subdivision approval for the 4.68-hectare site by the WA Planning Commission in November 2023, with a Local Development Plan approved shortly after. A sales office is set to open in early 2025, providing prospective buyers with the opportunity to explore the community and its home designs firsthand.
