Two very exciting and vital community infrastructure projects will get off-the-ground sooner at Mt Atkinson - thanks to over $3 million in funding announced by Melton City Council.
Mt Atkinson’s Active Open Space Precinct will receive $2,580,000 in funding, and include playing fields, a pavilion, playground, and passive recreation spaces, connected by a shared path network.
The Mt Atkinson Children and Community Centre will also receive over $800,000 in funding, with plans for a kindergarten, a maternal and child health clinic, early childhood services, breastfeeding support, parenting support programs, playgroups, immunisations and a wide range of community and cultural programs planned for the site.
Stockland will also contribute to both projects, and looks forward to seeing our residents make the most of these new facilities.
Construction of the Community Centre is scheduled to start in late-2021 and finish in late-2022. This means residents could be using the kindergarten facilities as early as 2023.
