We had a great time at Mt. Akinson's Killara Cafe grand opening!

We recently celebrated the grand opening of Killara Cafe, our Indigenous social enterprise organisation, where we saw 200 happy residents enjoy the morning. In partnership with the Killara Foundation and Edmund Rice Services Mt. Atkinson (ERSMA), the café provides employment, training and education opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The launch took place during National Reconciliation Week where we commenced the event with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by Elder Uncle Bill Nicholson. The community enjoyed free coffee, face painting a reptile experience & plenty more! Killara Cafe is set to be a vibrant social hub for the Mt. Atkinson community open five days a week:
