We've marked a significant milestone with the opening of Grand Boulevard, a new $10 million road designed to improve connectivity as well as access to future nearby amenity. The 1.7-kilometre road aims to reduce travel times, boost road safety, and alleviate congestion in the area.

The newly constructed east-west road features a single lane in each direction as well as two new signalised intersections: one at the corner of Grand Boulevard and Mt. Atkinson Road, and another at Grand Boulevard and Altezze Drive. Funded jointly by Stockland and the Melton City Council, the project demonstrates a collaborative effort to support the region’s infrastructure needs.

Jackie Kent, Development Director at Stockland, expressed "This new road will shorten travel times and provide a safer route for residents travelling between the Stockland communities of Grandview and Mt. Atkinson, and ease traffic congestion around the area," Kent stated. “For more than 70 years, Stockland has been a leading creator and curator of connected communities. We will continue to work with all levels of government, communities and local stakeholders to effectively plan for future housing with the right infrastructure in place".

City of Melton Mayor, Councillor Kathy Majdik, echoed Kent’s sentiments, emphasising the road’s importance in facilitating smoother travel "Grand Boulevard will serve as an important linking road, connecting growing communities in Mt. Atkinson and Grandview estate. Road improvements are a top priority for Melton City Council, and Grand Boulevard will improve travel and safety for both residents and visitors alike.”  Majdik stated.

The opening of Grand Boulevard is expected to provide immediate benefits by reducing commute times and easing congestion, setting a positive precedent for future urban planning initiatives in the West.
