Mt. Atkinson Children's and Community Centre: A Thriving Hub for the Growing Community
Mt. Atkinson Children’s and Community Centre, a collaborative effort between Melton City Council, the Victorian Government, and Stockland has opened its doors earlier this year in March 2023.
This facility aims to meet the needs of the growing community by providing flexible spaces for programs and services. The centre includes a four-room Kindergarten, outdoor play areas, Maternal Child Health facilities with consulting rooms, and a community centre featuring two community rooms and a community kitchen.
To promote sustainability, the building is equipped with solar panels on the roof, and the carpark lighting operates on solar power. Additionally, the centre offers two electric vehicle charging stations.
The three Kindergarten rooms are already operational, with the fourth set to open as community demand grows. The Mt. Atkinson Children’s and Community Centre will serve as a hub for residents of all ages to come together and thrive.
