Be part of the thriving Redlands Coast when you call Shoreline home

05 December 2024

When living at Shoreline you'll not only be part of a growing connected community but also part of a thriving Redlands Coast region – which is only getting bigger and better due to major infrastructure upgrades and developments planned for the region.

The Redlands Coast was once referred to as a hidden gem, offering locals the perfect bayside lifestyle without the hustle and bustle of the city.

Now that more people are catching on to how great life can be here in the Redlands, the population is expected to soar – with the Redland City Council estimating 200,000 people will call the region home by 2041.

As the Redlands Coast population thrives, so do the amenities, tourism and job growth to support it. Here are four exciting additions that will support the Redlands region now and well into the future.

Birkdale Community Precinct

The Birkdale Community Precinct will be a tourist destination and a place that welcomes everyone, with amenities such as a public swimming lagoon, café, gardens, adventure play area with even more planned for the 62-hectare site.

As part of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Redlands Coast has been announced as an event venue city for the Canoe Slalom events. This means that a purpose-built Olympic-standard whitewater centre will also be built within the Birkdale Community Precinct.

This element of the Birkdale Community Precinct will not only be valuable for young athletes and Olympians at the 2032 Games but would be a valuable asset for our emergency service personnel to train for swift-water rescues.

Infrastructure upgrades to support the growing population

The 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games have brought forward important and much-needed transport upgrades, including the duplication of the Cleveland railway line and the completion of the Eastern Busway to Capalaba, making it even easier to commute to work and get around the Redlands region.

Increased healthcare options

In August, the $43.8 million Redlands Satellite Hospital opened its doors, taking pressure off emergency departments and other major hospitals in the region.

Located on Meissner Street in Redland Bay – just a short drive from the Shoreline community – the Redlands Satellite Hospital is home to a range of specialist services, including:

  • A minor injury and illness clinic
  • Renal dialysis unit
  • Cancer day unit
  • Outpatient dialysis and chemotherapy services
  • Outpatient nursing and allied health services
  • Outpatient mental health services

The future of Shoreline

Much like the rest of the Redlands, the Shoreline community is growing day by day – offering residents the true bush to bay lifestyle. Once complete, Shoreline will provide the best in bayside living, with the following amenities just a few of the amazing features to come:

  • A state-of-the-art town centre with a range of shops, cafes and restaurants
  • 2.8km of bay frontage with bike paths, board walks and more
  • Adventure playgrounds. district sporting fields, a linear park, hiking and bike trails
  • Scenic Shores State School and a future childcare centres
