Stockland Aura has partnered with SuperSealing, road-transformation experts and leaders in climate-controlling technologies, to deliver a climate-responsive precinct for its new urban village, SOLAS at Aura.

Setting a new standard in sustainable living, focusing on climate-controlled technology and innovative design, SOLAS at Aura is a boutique urban village located in the Aura suburb of Nirimba that will feature the application of CoolSeal technology to create a “cool” neighbourhood.
Stockland Aura Senior Development Manager, Ms Genaea Keith said sustainability has always been a key focus for Stockland, with recognition by the Green Building Council of Australia for achieving the highest 6-star, Green Star Communities rating, reaching a ‘world leadership’ standard.
“SOLAS at Aura was designed as a climate-responsive precinct through the implementation of solar power, innovative home design features, and cutting-edge CoolSeal technology as part of Stockland’s new Cool Streets Initiative,” said Ms Keith.
“The application of CoolSeal, alongside Aura’s existing Cool Roof Policy, will provide residents with the comfort and luxury of living within a cool, urban village.”
“We have achieved great success with Aura’s Cool Roof Policy, requiring roof colours to meet specific solar absorbency standards to reflect heat, making homes cooler and more energy efficient to reduce energy bills for residents, so we are excited to now launch the Cool Streets Initiative to lower road surface temperatures within SOLAS at Aura.”
SuperSealing General Manager - Sales and Operations, Cameron Pascoe said the organisation was delighted to be working with Stockland.
“While CoolSeal has been applied on roads across Australia, this is the first application in Queensland, and we’re looking forward to seeing sections of the new community designed and constructed utilising this technology,” Mr Pascoe said.
“The application of the CoolSeal product will bring significant benefits to the community by reducing road asphalt temperatures by up to 14 degrees Celsius. The application also lowers ongoing road maintenance costs and promotes environmental sustainability by incorporating recycled products including bitumen, high quality hard mineral fillers, polymers and recycled materials.”
“In today's climate, heat islands can impact communities by increasing summertime peak energy demand, air conditioning costs, air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Lower pavement temperatures and lower night time heat reflection, means households can save on energy costs and reduce emissions.”
