NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia every July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only by Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

Stockland Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan

Our Stockland Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan 2020 - 2022 (RAP) aims to make a valuable contribution to our communities and our country by helping to shape thriving communities that value, respect and celebrate Australia’s First Peoples. Stockland is currently partnering with Reconciliation Australia to develop our Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), which will be released later this year.

Our focus on initiatives and programs in the areas of wellbeing, education and community connection will allow us to create a deeper understanding and better embrace Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ heritage and their role as the original custodians of Australia. Read Stockland's Reconciliation Action Plan.

An action of our Innovate RAP is to demonstrate respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by observing cultural protocols, such as the Acknowledgement of Country. We encourage everyone to learn whose Country you are on and Acknowledging Country in meetings and gatherings. You can find whose Country you are on here.

The theme for 2023 is 'For Our Elders'

The theme for this year reminds us all of the roles Elders have played, and continue to play as cultural knowledge holders, trailblazers, nurturers, advocates, survivors, leaders and loved ones in our communities.

At Stockland, we believe that we have both the opportunity and the responsibility to create the right balance of social, environmental and economic conditions for our communities, customers and investors now and in the future. As such, we have a responsibility to ensure we embrace the varied and rich cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
