Olympic-standard hockey pitches open at The Gables

Over the weekend, more than 1,000 residents, Hockey NSW players, and delegates came together to celebrate the opening of Central Playing Fields—a $21 million sports precinct in our community.

Stockland constructed the facilities, which are set to become a hub for elite hockey, with an $11 million funding grant from the NSW Government. Recognising the need for a regional sporting facility for the growing north-west corridor and have been instrumental in bringing this vision to life.

elds features Olympic-standard hockey pitches, allowing national and state championships to be held onsite. The precinct, already home to 5,000 residents, offers amenities such as parks, playgrounds, schools, and a town centre currently under construction.

Additionally, the precinct includes multipurpose sports fields for soccer and rugby, full-sized basketball courts for basketball, netball, tennis, and futsal, as well as a skate park, rock climbing structure, and children’s playground. The community will also have access

to a fenced dog park and an amenities building with a canteen, change rooms, and restrooms.
