Liveability at Elara

How Elara creates liveability

At Stockland, we know it takes a lot more than bricks and mortar to create connected, happy communities. Since 1952, we’ve been building communities that bring people together. Spaces filled with energy, soul, and life. Where houses become homes and neighbours become family. All in pursuit of our purpose, a better way to live.

Our annual Liveability Survey is one of the ways we bring this purpose to life. By measuring what matters, we can better understand and design our communities around the things our residents love. From the quality of parks and playgrounds to how community design supports healthy minds and active lifestyles. We recognise, what matters to one person can be very different to the next. That’s why we survey across a diverse range, including belonging, connection, health and fitness, safety, environment, and sustainability.

Earlier this year, Elara residents were invited to complete our 2024 Liveability Survey. The results are in. We’ve listened. And here are some of the initiatives we’ve implemented.

Here's what we're doing to improve^

Delivery of new sporting field

Situated in the heart of Elara, the Northern Playing fields will provide another destination hub for the community and regional visitors to explore and enjoy their outdoor surroundings.

The facility will include a full-size AFL playing field and junior playing fields, amenities building, cricket nets, walking and cycling paths, a playground and car park. The future playing fields will provide space for all ages to engage in physical activities, sports and outdoor games.

It has been designed as a location for the Elara community, their friends and neighbouring sporting team to gather and be active. This will not only promote a healthier lifestyle but also foster a sense of community spirit.

Construction is expected to commence in early 2025, with completion anticipated by the end of 2026.

Elara road safety

We’re working closely with Blacktown City Council to enhance road network improvements throughout the community, with a focus on the intersection upgrade at Northbourne Drive and Elara Boulevard.

Keeping you informed

We're all about keeping our community informed because we know how important it is to stay connected. Whether it's new developments, exciting events, or changes around the community we'll make sure you're the first to know. Expect regular updates through our socials or community newsletters. We want to keep things easy, accessible, and transparent, so you always know what's happening in your community.

Calendar of Community Programs

We are looking forward to continuing community programs in 2024. We have a schedule of events that are locked in including our Ready Steady Go Kids and Live Life Get Active program.

We continue our partnership with Northwest Community Services, which will continue to manage the Elara Community Hub while also working to activate the broader Elara community and engage residents with regular activities, programs, and forums.
