Inaugural SpringFest kicks off at Stockland Point Cook
Stockland Point Cook, located in Melbourne’s west, has launched its inaugural SpringFest at Pop Up Park alongside CoLocal, which will see a series of family-friendly events held at Point Cook Pop Up Park until mid-December.
Nearly 5,000 people attended the opening weekend. Carnival celebrations kicked off the SpringFest on Saturday 28 October, with Stockland and CoLocal joined by Member for Point Cook, Mathew Hilakari; Wyndham Mayor Councillor, Susan McIntyre; and Harrison Ward Councillor, Jasmine Hill.
The community dressed up to enjoy a Halloween event on Sunday 29 October with costume competitions, Halloween decorated cubby houses, a trick or treat treasure hunt, crafts, and face painting. Other upcoming SpringFest calendar events include Spring Racing, Diwali, World Children’s Day Rainbows and Unicorns Party, and a Christmas twilight market.
Stockland Point Cook Centre Manager, Frank Pizi, said SpringFest supports the vibrancy and diversity of Point Cook and the broader community.
“Following the success of the Kaleidoscope Festival earlier this year, we’re looking forward to hosting another series of events with CoLocal to celebrate the end of the year with our customers and the community,” Mr Pizi said.
“With the warmer weather and longer days, Spring is the perfect time to visit the centre to enjoy a meal, a concert, a movie or a market. Point Cook Pop Up Park has become a hub for the community to gather and stay socially connected.”
Stockland has worked with CoLocal on community-led street activations at Point Cook Pop Up Park since 2018.
CoLocal founder, Sara Mitchell, said the organisation was delighted to partner with Stockland to deliver the very first SpringFest.
“SpringFest at Pop Up Park is a celebration of local fun that not only brings the community together, but supports local business, too,” Ms Mitchell said.
“We thank our key supporters and stakeholders in helping to keep people connected at Point Cook Pop Up Park, the heart of our community here in Point Cook.”
SpringFest at Point Cook Pop Up Park is proudly supported by CoLocal, Stockland, Wyndham City Council, and the Victorian State Government SME program. Events run until Saturday 16 December 2023.
There will also be free movie nights at Point Cook Pop Up Park, with the schedule available here.
