Stockland Point Cook celebrates diversity with the community
Stockland Point Cook, in Melbourne’s west, will be hosting its first Kaleidoscope Festival over seven weeks celebrating diversity and multiculturalism in the community, from Saturday 4 March to Sunday 30 April.
The events will be held at Point Cook Pop Up Park, with Stockland working alongside CoLocal, Wyndham City Council, and community groups to host weekend celebrations including Holi Festival, African Festival, Greek Festival and Filipino Fiesta.
There will also be a free movie night in the park held every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from Saturday 4 March to Saturday 8 April.
Stockland Point Cook Centre Manager, Frank Pizi said he’s looking forward to seeing the community come together.
“Events like these celebrate the diversity in our local community and help to strengthen the connection,” Mr Pizi said. “It’s great to be working with CoLocal and community groups again as we transform Pop Up Park into to a vibrant hub over the next seven weeks.”
CoLocal founder, Sara Mitchell said CoLocal is proud to be involved.
“Our aim is to work with local groups to celebrate the cultures in our area in a way that’s inclusive,” Ms Mitchell said.
Point Cook Pop Up Park is a community-led street activation run by CoLocal in partnership with Stockland.
Since 2018, Point Cook Pop Up Park has allowed the community to gather and support local businesses.
