Ian and Ellie Pascoe did their research when it came time to downsize. Both originally from country New South Wales, they investigated properties in Orange and surrounding regions looking for somewhere with a sense of peace and quiet.
Then, a friend mentioned Halcyon Gables.
Ian and Ellie decided to fly to Queensland to look at the recently completed B by Halcyon, located in Buderim, to tour the homes, explore the resort-quality facilities and find out more about Stockland Halcyon communities.
The day after this trip, they put their names down for a site at Halcyon Gables.

“I’ve been in the building trade a long time, and I’ve seen a lot of houses,” says Ian.
“When I saw the way these homes are built, I was impressed. I couldn’t get over the quality of what I saw, the way the work was done. I thought, I could live here.”

Stockland Halcyon Gables recently celebrated another milestone, with the builder confirmed as Edgewater Homes, part of the Henley Properties Group. The site is now being prepared for construction.
The choice of builder gave Ian and Ellie further reassurance in the quality of their new home.
“One of the things I noticed was the high ceilings, and that all the doors have three hinges, which makes them easier to close, and causes less issues with creaking. Just the general way that the homes are built appealed to me,” continued Ian.
Ellie echoes the sentiment, saying it is the first time they’ll be moving into a brand-new home.
“There is no perfect house, but we feel the one we’ve chosen here is pretty close,” she says.
Ian and Ellie Pascoe will be one of the first homeowners at Halcyon Gables.
Stockland Halcyon’s land lease model means residents, like Ian and Ellie, own their homes and pay a site fee to the land. This fee also provides homeowners with access to the community facilities, maintenance, and management.
“I’m looking forward to downsizing because it will give me more time to use the facilities available to me. It is a big change for us but it’s a change that we’re welcoming.
“There’s a gym, there’s a swimming pool, there’s a pickleball court,” says Ian.

Ian and Ellie also comment on the peace of mind that living in a gated community like Halcyon Gables provides, particularly as they move into the next stage of life.
“We’re going to be able to move in and really enjoy the lifestyle,” says Ellie.
