How to make an easy rough puff pastry

Make your comfort food dreams come true with Miguel’s rough puff pastry recipe – the easy inspiration didn’t know you kneaded.  

Ingredients

1 x cup plain flour

1 x cup cubed butter

Pinch of salt

1 x tablespoon cold water

Method

1. First, add your flour and butter into a mixing bowl. 

2. Using your hands, roughly combine the mixture and begin to form a dough. 

3. Next, sprinkle over a pinch of salt and work into the mixture. 

4. Then tip the teaspoon of cold water into the bowl and combine with the existing mixture.  

5. Now lightly spread some flour across a clean kitchen surface and empty the pastry mixture onto it. 

6. Form the dough into a ball and then use a rolling pin to flatten it out. The pastry should end up approximately 2-3mm thick.  

7. Now that you have your rough puff pastry, use your creative licence to fill the dough with whatever takes your fancy and bake away!
