Monday 07 Apr 2025  | 09:00AM - 05:00PM

A new interactive exhibition from the Australian Museum showcasing the amazing and diverse world of Australia’s frogs is now on show in Stockland Shellharbour.

Cost: FREE!

Dates: 7 April – 4 May

Location: Stockland Shellharbour, opposite Blooms on the ground floor.

The FrogID Touring Exhibition, presented by the Australian Museum in collaboration with Stockland, showcases the diversity and importance of Australia's frog species through interactive stations and dioramas. This family-friendly exhibition highlights the crucial role frogs play in ecosystems and offers practical advice on how to help conserve them in local areas.

With over 40% of amphibian species worldwide threatened with extinction due to disease, climate change, and habitat loss, the exhibition emphasizes the urgent need for research and conservation efforts. It also educates visitors on how frogs serve as biological indicators of environmental health. The exhibition will travel to Stockland locations in NSW and QLD in 2025, engaging communities with fun and informative content.

About FrogID:

Launched in 2017, FrogID is the Australian Museum's national citizen science project that is helping us learn more about what is happening to our native frogs. Australia has over 250 known species of frog, almost all of which are found nowhere else in the world, and while some species are flourishing, like the Striped Marsh Frog (Limnodynastes peronii), others have declined dramatically since the 1980s, and at least four have become extinct.
