What we love about this location is that it is home to quenda and kangaroos, many species of birds, lizards and frogs and several species of invertebrates. Every month there are numerous different native plant species flowering in a constantly changing mosaic which is at its peak in Spring.

Forrestdale Lake Circuit, Hilbert
What we love about this location is that it’s a moderately trafficked loop trail which is located near Hilbert. It features a lake and is good for all skill levels. It also offers a number of activity options.

The area was previously known as East Jandakot but was renamed Forrestdale in April 1915. The lake retained the name Jandakot until March 1974 when it was also renamed Forrestdale Lake, listed under the Ramsar Convention as a Wetland of International Importance for migratory water birds.
Saunders Park, Champion Lakes
What we love about this location is it’s a great place to take the kids, with plenty on offer for all ages. Set amongst the backdrop of the lake and close to the Champion Lakes Regatta Centre it hosts rowing, canoeing, dragon boating and triathlon events throughout the year.

Joe Saunders Park in Champion Lakes is a great place to take the kids with plenty on offer for all ages. Set amongst the backdrop of the very impressive purpose-built and man-made lake, it’s close to the Champion Lakes Regatta Centre which hosts rowing, canoeing, dragon boating and triathlon events throughout the year. Adjacent to the playground is a natural space with plenty of secret pathways, steps and corners to explore. There is also a grassed open space ideal for cricket, frisbee or kicking the footy. Further around from the play space is a lovely amphitheatre type set up with views of the lake and a natural filter system that has been created. The bike and walk paths are amazing and wind around the huge lake with plenty of opportunities for wildlife spotting.
Kaalitj-ngort Koondaam, Bateman Park
Find the start of the Kaalitj-ngort Koondaam trail at Moonlight Cove in Brentwood. The audio guide (available via a downloadable app) makes the experience interactive for those both young and old.
