If you couldn’t attend - or just want to catch up - here’s all the key info from the night, along with some helpful links and documents.

Town Centre Construction is Underway

If you haven't heard it from us already - the Sienna Wood Town Centre is officially under construction - and big things are already happening! This vibrant new space is designed to be the heart of the community, bringing convenience, connection, and lifestyle together. Set to open in 2026, the 7,500 square-metre development will feature everything from a full-line Woolworths supermarket to 15 specialty stores, dining options, a medical centre, and a Nido Early School childcare centre. Want more details? Check out our announcement here

The Town Centre will also create hundreds of local jobs, both during construction and once it’s up and running, supporting the area’s growth. As part of the development, we’re also looking into telecommunication upgrades to improve connectivity - without compromising the area’s visual appeal - through reduced tower heights or roof-mounted solutions. Our Government Primary School is Opening in 2026

We've been talking about our future primary school a lot - and rightly so! Our very own state-of-the-art primary school is well underway - and will be opening its doors very soon. Set to welcome students for the 2026 school year, the school will cater for 540 students and feature amazing facilities including a library, music and science rooms, all designed to support the growing needs of our community. As a key part of the Wungong Urban Masterplan, this new school will boost educational opportunities for local families. Check out the proposed plans here.

Forest Road Upgrades

You may have noticed the roadworks happening along Forest Road - with a major upgrade underway to better support the growing Sienna Wood community and improve safety for all users. A 1.4km stretch of road is being transformed into a dual carriageway, complete with two new roundabouts to boost traffic flow and safety. Construction kicked off in October 2024 and is set to wrap up late 2025 - just in time to make access easier to the Sienna Wood Town Centre and the future primary school.

In the meantime, expect some temporary disruptions, including slower traffic and daytime noise. But don’t worry, we’ll keep you updated regularly to help minimise any inconvenience. Want more details? Check out the full plan for Forest Road here

Community Sponsorships

We’re excited to team up with the City of Armadale this year to bring some fun, creative, and community-focused initiatives to life. Here’s what’s happening:

  • Christmas Lights Competition: Get into the festive spirit by lighting up your home for a chance to win cash prizes and claim the title of the best-decorated house on the block!
  • Minnawarra Art Awards: A highlight of the Armadale Arts Festival, this professionally curated exhibition features some top WA artists and offers a $25,000 prize pool, plus a public program for the whole community to enjoy.
  • Movies in March: Enjoy outdoor movie screenings and free kids' activities at local parks around the area. Pack a picnic or grab some movie treats and join us at Shipwreck Park on Friday, 14 March for a magical evening under the stars. We can’t wait to see you there!

Hilbert Community Network

The Hilbert Community Network is on a roll—and it all started at our last drop-in session! Now, they’re behind some of the most exciting local events, like Autumn Nights and the Shipwreck Park Summer Festival. The network is all about creating a vibrant, connected community here at Sienna Wood, bringing neighbours together for fun and memorable experiences.

Whether you're interested in helping organize future events, volunteering your time, or just meeting new people, the Hilbert Community Network is always looking for fresh faces to join. Want in? Head to their Facebook page for updates or reach out to Emma at mamaskitchenwa@outlook.com to learn how you can get involved!

Neighbourhood Watch Armadale & Armadale Police

We were incredibly fortunate to have the Armadale Police and Neighbourhood Watch Armadale join us on the night to chat with residents, answer questions and discuss ways to boost community safety. The goal? To help build a stronger neighbourhood watch program and improve connections with local authorities. Attendees walked away with useful crime prevention tips, info on local resources, and helpful pamphlets on securing their homes. It was the perfect opportunity to strengthen community bonds and raise awareness about keeping our area safe!

Liveability Perks for Residents

At Sienna Wood, we're all about supporting you, and your furry friends too! Residents can take advantage of free dog training with RSPCA's expert trainers. Normally valued at $210, this 6-week training course is completely free for residents. Held at Sienna Wood Dog Park, the classes cover everything from loose-lead walking and socializing with other dogs to teaching fun tricks. Perfect for pups (over +13 weeks) and senior dogs alike! The next course starts on Thursday, February 27th, 5-6pm. Find out what you and your pooch can learn, or book a course here.

(Even) More Development in the Works!

Our community is buzzing with progress, with exciting new stages and infrastructure updates lined up for the next 12 months! In Haynes, construction is moving forward on the final stages, including Cell D along Eighth Road, with Stage 20A marking the last delivery before nearby landowners begin their developments. Over in Riverbend, more land releases are on the horizon, with earthworks set to start soon. These new stages, nestled between Wungong and a Conservation Wetland, will offer a stunning natural setting, close to the future town centre and primary school. The wetland’s revegetation is nearly complete, and soon, limestone pathways will connect residents to this peaceful spot. Plus, keep an eye out for POS 200, where new green spaces and amenities are coming your way!
