How to find the right builder and create your dream home!

Whether you’re bursting with ideas from our display village or just ready to begin building your dream home, it’s crucial to find the right builder to help turn your dream into a reality. Sales Manager, Debbie Bottriell from Brighton Homes shared her tips on how to find the perfect builder.  

Doing your homework before visiting a Display Village 
Before visiting a display village like our Springfield Rise Dream Home Display Village at Spring Mountain, Debbie suggests having a look online at the range of builders and what’s on offer before heading out. This not only stops the overwhelm, but also shows you exactly what’s available.  
 
“We know that more often than not, our buyers have extensively researched online before making their way to our display locations,” said Debbie.  

“Without leaving home, that research allows them to get a feel for a particular builder’s design range and façade options. It showcases what that builder has to offer, as well as most importantly, shows the display locations and the product you will see when you get there, making it easier to plan a road trip for your upcoming display visits and ensuring you will see relevant product when you get there.”  

Knowing your budget 
Before heading out to a display village or working with a builder, it’s important to know how much you have to spend. Debbie says it is possible to create your dream home on any budget, but it’s crucial to be vocal before building.  
 
“The most important thing you need to do to achieve your dream home, is to know your budget and to be honest about that budget with your Building & Design Consultant right from the get-go,” she said. 
 
“A dream home, a truly beautiful, stylish, on-trend dream home can be created on any budget. As a large project builder, we have the resources to be able to provide four different design ranges and four different inclusion ranges. These start from the smallest of single storey designs to the largest of double storey designs with every combination in between, because you can also make changes to those multitude of design options -- the possibilities are endless.”

Honest communication is key 
When it comes to finding the right builder, Debbie says you’ll want to look for open communication.  

“Like any good relationship, choosing the right builder for you and your dream build is incredibly important, as is choosing the right Building & Design Consultant to guide you through that building process,” said Debbie.  

“If your builder doesn’t customise their floor plans and you want to heavily modify those floor plans, then you may be sitting with the wrong builder. While it’s easy to check a builder’s financial viability with QBCC, you can check their build quality looking at the display finishes, their transparency and customer service levels, these will speak volumes. A builder who right from the outset is honest about what they will and won’t do, allows you the buyer, to make an educated decision on how you move forward.”
