North Shore Schools and Childcare

At North Shore, there are three modern state and private primary schools and two childcare centres located within the community. A wealth of additional schooling is nearby including the world-class James Cook University.

North Shore State School

North Shore State School is an educational institution that prides itself on being inclusive and focuses on maximizing student achievement. North Shore State School officially opened in January 2018, becoming the newest state school to be built, in the rapidly growing Northern Beaches area of Townsville.

St Clare's Catholic School

St Clare's Catholic School is the perfect place for parents who want their child to have a strong sense of belonging. The school caters to students from Prep to Year 6 and is co-educational, with more than 700 students.

Townsville Grammar School - North Shore Campus

Townsville Grammar School's education is an experience designed to open young minds to discovery and learning. The North Shore Campus opened in 2015 and is a growing community, currently offering an Early Education Centre, plus Prep - Year 6.

Green Leaves Early Learning

Green Leaves Early Learning is located on Rockingham Drive Burdell. This single-storey facility has been custom-designed to meet the evolving learning needs of children six weeks to six years of age. Each of the learning hubs are bright and inviting, filled with rich, warm timber resources and innovative educational materials.

Guardian Childcare & Education

Guardian Childcare & Education Burdell is an exceptional early learning centre, consisting of two centres located next to each other. The centre is dedicated to providing children with a nurturing environment that fosters lifelong friendships and a love of learning.

James Cook University Townsville

James Cook University is located in Townsville’s CBD and boasts a range of innovative spaces and state-of-the-art facilities. The Townsville City Campus delivers services for the university, its students, businesses, and community organisations.
