Dozers & Delights: The Gables Big Machine Day a Community Hit!

The Gables celebrated it's first Big Machine Day last Saturday, 13 July, and wow, what a roaring success it was! The event showcased the mighty machines that are shaping our highly anticipated future town centre.

We were thrilled to welcome Dr. Peter Gangemi, Mayor of The Hills Shire Council, along with over 600 community members who came out to see the big diggers in action. From excavators to dozers and dump trucks, it was a machinery marvel, bringing the construction of the town centre to life before our very eyes.

And what a town centre it’s going to be! Anchored by a full-line 3,800 square metre Woolworths supermarket, it will also feature a childcare centre run by Nido Early School, a medical centre, a pharmacy, a gym, and plenty of specialty shops, food, and dining options. We're gearing up for trade to commence in early 2026, and we can't wait!

Our mini-machinists had a blast too! Kids played on construction-themed mini-trucks and got decked out in mini-hard hats and hi-vis vests courtesy of Junior Tradies. There were fun activities in the construction play zone, live music, food stalls, refreshments, and showbags to keep everyone entertained.

A huge shoutout to our key builder partners, Mainbrace and Attcall, for being on hand to educate both the young and the young-at-heart about the role of each machine in these grand construction projects.
