Set in the heart of the Illawarra, Calderwood Valley is your gateway to the best of the South Coast. Close to Shellharbour and surrounds, everything you need is nearby – from parks and schools to shops and recreation options.

Discover what’s on your doorstep, now and into the future.

Retail bliss

Take your pick of shopping centres, from the nearby Stockland Shellharbour for your weekly grocery run to Wollongong Central for some serious retail therapy. Or, take your time strolling through the eclectic boutiques in Shellharbour Village.

Closer to home, construction has begun on Calderwood Village. This $50 million neighbourhood centre will have a Woolworths supermarket, childcare centre, gym facility, swim school, medical and allied health services and a veterinary clinic. The centre will also feature an outdoor dining precinct and 20 specialty tenants including a bakery, butcher and cafés.

Parks and recreation

You’ll find four parks within our very own community, including the expansive Calderwood Valley District Park with its distinctive 20-metre multicoloured slide, water play area, swings and shaded picnic area.

For golf lovers, Calderwood Valley Golf Course is just 3km from home and enjoys beautiful views of the surrounding Illawarra Escarpment. Each of the 18 holes is unique, with clear creeks running throughout the picturesque course.

If hiking is more your speed, Macquarie Pass National Park – with its rainforest, waterfalls and ocean views – is an experience like no other.

If you’re an avid beachgoer, some of South Coast NSW’s best beaches [link to Article #12 once published] are nearby. Thirroul Beach, Port Kembla Beach and Wollongong City Beach are a few of our favourites and they’re all less than 40km away, making them the perfect option for a family-friendly day out.

For water play of a different kind, check out Jamberoo Action Park and its water slides, wave pool and kids play area.

Education essentials

Calderwood Valley is also well-located when it comes to your family’s education. Take your pick of nearby schooling options, with Albion Park Public School, Albion Park High School, Calderwood Christian School and Tullimbar Public School all located within 3km. To make the school run even easier, there are plans for two new primary schools, a high school and a childcare centre within our own Calderwood Valley community.

And if higher education is on your agenda, the TAFE Illawarra Yallah Campus and the University of Wollongong are conveniently close by, ensuring accessible pathways to further learning and professional development.

From daily essentials to leisure options to fill your weekends, it’s all at your doorstep at Calderwood Valley. Discover more about the community’s location.
