Stockland swings into the holidays, opening two parks in a week in Melbourne's west
Stockland has celebrated two significant milestones at its Mt. Atkinson and Grandview communities, with the launch of Conondale Park on Saturday 18 November 2023 and Highline Park on Saturday 25 November 2023.
The parks are around 10 minutes’ drive apart, giving residents their pick of two amazing green spaces in time for the school holidays. Together, the parks include BBQs, accessible play equipment, a full-size tennis court, a tennis hit-up wall, a basketball ring, and soccer goals.
To celebrate the opening of the parks, Stockland hosted two community events. Mt. Atkinson residents were treated to food trucks, face painting and exciting slime and science workshops. Grandview residents enjoyed smoothies, music and sports competitions with prizes.
Mt. Atkinson is one of Stockland’s fastest growing communities in Victoria. Located in Truganina, around 25 kilometres west of Melbourne’s CBD, it’s already home to 900 families, with 4,400 families expected to live there upon completion.
Stockland Grandview is also in Truganina, just 28 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD and will eventually include homes for more than 1,700 families.
Stockland Senior Development Manager Aaron Fisher said providing spaces where locals can gather is vital to a community’s sense of wellbeing.
“It’s not only about providing an engaging space for kids to use their imaginations and benefit from physical outdoor activity, but also providing seating and shaded areas where parents and carers can relax, build friendships and feel connected to their local community,” Mr Fisher said.
“Conondale Park will include Mt. Atkinson's first free community BBQ, and Highline Park will have Grandview’s first multi-use sports court that will bring friends, families and neighbours together to enjoy the outdoors.
“As a leading creator of connected communities, the opening of both parks are great milestones for Stockland and the communities in both Mt. Atkinson and Grandview and we look forward to seeing residents enjoy the new spaces over the school holidays.”
