Upwards and onwards

We’ve spent over seven decades helping to shape the way Australians live. From redefining city skylines to reimagining what it means to live in a thriving community, our legacy is one of innovation, quality, and connection. Whilst you might know us best for our work transforming suburban areas, some of our most transformative breakthroughs have taken place in the heart of our biggest cities. 

The Stockland apartments journey began in 1963 with a bold move into one of Sydney’s most exclusive streets, Wolseley Road, Point Piper. This first foray into urban living completely changed the idea of what apartments could offer. Prestige, timeless design, and a deep connection to place. It was, and still is, a profound statement. Through it, we showed Australians that their homes didn’t necessarily need sprawling backyards to be luxurious and liveable, they simply needed thoughtful, quality design and a carefully fostered sense of belonging. 

 In 1964, we made another indelible mark on the Sydney skyline with Toft Monks in Elizabeth Bay. Boasting panoramic views across the harbour with understated luxury crafted into every detail, it quickly became an icon. Ultimately, its story became as unique as its design. The penthouse was famously home to Kerry Packer, a powerful testament to its appeal, grandeur and representation of newer, better ways of urban living.  

Our upward momentum continued in 1968 with Park Regis, another landmark that brought the idea of city living home to Sydney’s CBD. Designed to embrace the vibrancy of city life, Park Regis was once the tallest building outside of America and offered a lifestyle that cleverly fused work and play, culture and connection. Something truly rare at that time. Decades later, it remains a key part of the city’s identity, standing tall as a reminder of our early vision and enduring quality. 

For us, these first apartment developments were more than architectural achievements, they laid the foundations for a philosophy that still guides how we create and curate the apartment developments of today. The belief that apartments should be designed to meet and anticipate the evolving needs of their residents, fostering connection, embracing sustainability, and integrating forward-thinking technologies. 

While our story has always been one of constant evolution, the principles we were founded on remain unchanged.
