Stockland is helping create healthier Queensland communities, with a three year local partnership with the Jamie’s Ministry of Food (JMOF) Mobile Kitchen.

The program includes Jamie’s hints, tips and shortcuts for preparing food from scratch using fresh ingredients, all focused on preparing and serving nutritious, fresh food on a budget. This is a great example of our commitment to support programs that foster good health and active living.

The JMOF Mobile Kitchen has already delivered cooking courses for local residents at Stockland Townsville. The Mobile Kitchen is now in far north Queensland at Stockland Mossman and will then travel to Stockland’s Queensland shopping centres at Cairns, Cleveland, Brisbane and Burleigh Heads.

Davina Rooney, National Sustainability Manager, Stockland said, “Our partnership is intended to give Queensland participants greater insights into healthier eating habits, with a particular focus on growing healthy, happy young people.”

We expect over 2000 people to directly benefit from attending the cooking classes, with the ripple effect of better food choices and good nutrition felt by families and friends.

Elise Bennetts, Acting CEO, Jamie’s Ministry of Food Australia and The Good Foundation said: “Our partnership with Stockland continues to instil a sense of community connectedness as we deliver the community-focused program which inspires participants to get back to basics in the kitchen.”

The JMOF partnership is now expanding into our Retirement Living business, with pilot programs scheduled for the July school holidays at Mernda and Selandra Rise retirement living villages in Victoria. These programs will pilot cooking activities for residents and their grandkids and promote healthy eating and cooking habits for all.
