Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program
Stockland Baringa is proud to offer the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program in-centre. The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is to support people with a hidden disability by making the invisible, visible and helping them attain the understand, patience and assistance needed when going about their daily lives.
Stockland is offering our customers the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower to help support and raise awareness of those living with a hidden disability. From today, the Sunflower lanyards, pins and wristbands are being introduced to our centre. In addition to making the Sunflower lanyards, pins and wristbands available to customers and colleagues with a hidden disability, we’re training our staff to identify the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, gain a deeper understanding of hidden disabilities and learn how to approach and support customers with a hidden disability.
In Australia and New Zealand, 1 in 5 people have a disability and 80% of these are hidden. Wearing the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower discreetly indicates to people, including staff, colleagues and health professionals, that they need additional support, assistance or a little more time. Find out more about the Sunflower on the Hidden Disabilities website here.
Visit the Stockland Birtinya Centre Management Office located down the corridor next to Boocock's Quality Meats to pick up a free lanyard, pin or wristband.
