We've heard your calls. Or rather, caught wind of them through the grapevine (and by grapevine we mean the 2023 Liveability Survey). We know farmers markets are your cup of tea. And, while Sienna Wood doesn't host a farmers market (just yet), we've found 3 awesome farmers markets near Hilbert that'll have you rounding up those reusable shopping bags come the weekend.

Fancy a Sunday morning stroll? Think that stroll would be made 10x better with a bag of fresh produce in hand?

We think so too. And, now that Summer is here to stay, what better time to head down to a farmers market? Think - fresh fruit and veg, baked goods, local artisan products… the list could go on forever. But, whether you're after fresh produce for the weekly food shop, or just there to grab a Sunday morning breakfast - we've got you covered. And the best part? You can get there in 20 minutes or less.

1. Serpentine Jarrahdale Markets

Spice up your Saturdays at the Serpentine Jarrahdale Markets. Organised and run by non-profit organisation, Serpentine Jarrahdale Food and Farm Alliance Inc., this market is your ticket to a smorgasbord of fresh local produce, where you can not only fill your basket - but get to know the farmers behind all the goodies. From local, to local. That's what they're all about. With a range of stallholders from Medulla Valley Olive Farm, to Cooper's Classic and KCK Gourmet - your next Christmas hamper will be filled to the brim with artisan treats. The Serpentine Jarrahdale Markets take place every Saturday from 8am till 12pm (excluding 2 weeks either side of New Year) at the Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Resource Centre.

2. The Local Farmers Market (TLFM)

Now that your Saturdays are sorted, why not make The Local Farmers Market your Sunday morning ritual? Known for its laid-back and family-friendly atmosphere, the markets host a mix of handmade and homemade variety stalls, local businesses, fresh produce, and food and coffee trucks for that (much-needed) Sunday morning pick-me-up. The cherry on top - your furry friends are welcome too! Just jump on their Facebook page on Saturday mornings for the inside scoop on what stalls to expect each week. Held every Sunday, year round (except for Christmas, Easter, and ANZAC Day, of course), the markets set up shop on the Wandi District Playing Fields

3. Piara Waters Farmers and Artisan Markets

Sundays will have you spoilt for choice. Mix it up on Sunday, December 17th, for the Piara Waters Farmers and Artisan Markets' last hurrah before Christmas. Pop down to explore local and artisan produce and browse work from some local creatives. And, if you're after a Sunday morning brekky (or sweet treat), we've heard OMG! Donuts, Schmear and Bagel, and Dentinos Kitchen are all regular vendors ready to curb your cravings. Perfect for the whole family (and fur babies too), face painting, bubbles and canvas painting classes could be on the cards to keep the little ones happy - just check out their Facebook page the week before for the full line up of vendors and activities on offer. The Piara Waters Markets take place every first and third Sunday of the month, at Novelli Reserve

We know your love of farmers markets, which is why we don't want you to miss out. As our community continues to grow, and in line with our vision to create a community where you can live, grow and connect with others, we'll keep an eye out for opportunities to bring a farmers market closer to home. But for now, enjoy living in a connected community where local farmers markets are just a short drive away.
