Create a lush, green oasis in your Orion townhome.

Gardening is known to make you feel great and you don’t need a big space to reap the benefits. There are plenty of plants suited to townhome living. No matter the aspect of your space, there will be a plant to suit either sun or shade.
If you have a sunny spot on the balcony, why not try giving succulents a go? Very on trend and easy to maintain, a group of succulents will love life planted together in a pot. They are easy to propagate too, so even those new to gardening could soon have a litter of succulent babies with little effort. A fun project and perfect to give away as gifts!
Don’t forget to consider using vertical spaces, mirrors and hanging baskets. Herb gardens are perfect for pots, but they will need some sun. You could even grow herbs on a sunny windowsill. The smell of fresh herbs after you water them is delicious.
And why not move the greenery inside your home? Indoor plants have had a revival in recent years, and it’s no wonder, they look great and bring such a relaxed vibe!
You won’t have to travel far for inspiration when you’re living at Orion. Don’t miss a visit to the recently opened Entangled Studio, a cosy new plant store near Tottenham station. They have some big ideas for smaller spaces, including their ‘Kokedama’s,’ Japanese style potting in balls of moss. Entangled Studio run Kokedama workshops which could make for an interesting party or work event.
Their unique range of plants and hand painted planters at reasonable prices are hard to walk past. Why not have a go at growing veggies on the balcony? Try starting with their ‘Balcony Seed Kit’ which includes a mix of balcony-friendly seeds such as tomato, basil and chilli.
Be sure to also check out One for the Crow, a plant-based café run by a young couple; one a well-regarded Melbourne barista, the other a Horticulturalist. Opening to five-star reviews, their vegan and plant-based offerings are a hit with the locals. Although they don’t sell plants anymore, you can check out their curbside herb garden or take a seat amongst the greenery while you wait for your order. We love the hot Apple Pie Waffles, served with cinnamon sugar, stewed apples, creamy cashew custard, ice cream, maple syrup and granola ... yum!
With all of the above, as well as three local Bunnings Warehouse locations within a short drive of Stockland Orion, you’ll be giving a green thumbs up to weekend projects.
