Stockland is proud to announce its masterplanned community, Whiteman Edge, has won the Masterplanned Communities category in the prestigious Urban Development Institute of Australia Awards WA for Excellence, held on Saturday 14 September.

Whiteman Edge is a family-friendly community located in Perth’s eastern suburb of Brabham, approximately 23 kilometres from the Perth CBD.

Entrants in the Masterplanned Communities category were judged on several factors including Planning and Integration, Innovation, Urban Design and Built Form, and Market Acceptance and Success.

Whiteman Edge launched in late 2010 and provides a diverse range of housing options across 2,410 residential lots. The community spans 146 hectares in total, with approximately seven hectares of retail and commercial space, and 500 square metres of future community facilities.

Residents are close to the planned Brabham District Community Centre, Brabham town centre and access into the new Whiteman Edge Metronet station, with convenient access to parks, playgrounds and 14 kilometres of walking paths.

Stockland General Manager, WA Development, Col Dutton said it was an honour for Whiteman Edge to take home the award.

“Stockland has been a leading creator and curator of connected communities for more than 70 years and we are proud of our role in helping more Australians achieve the dream of home ownership,” Mr Dutton said.

“The average lot size in the community is around 300 square metres which has helped affordability and enabled a more efficient use of urban land. In our planning, we prioritised east-west streets to create view corridors – Whiteman Park to the west and the Swan Valley and Perth Hills to the east – so the community retains its rural feel”.

“It’s great to see Whiteman Edge recognised by UDIA WA and I’m proud of the team for their achievement,” Mr Dutton added.
