Stockland Riverton Youth Art Awards celebrate local student talent
For a third consecutive year, local students will be able to see their works of art showcased at Stockland Riverton as part of the centre’s Youth Art Awards.
Stockland Riverton Centre Manager Phil Martin, said that the Youth Art Awards event is a great opportunity for students to show the community their creativity, passion and skills.
“We had an incredible launch with Mayor of Canning Paul Ng, and we were pleased to announce and celebrate the winners of this year’s Youth Art Awards.
“Our aim is to continue to help shape Riverton into a thriving and connected community. We know that our customers want experiences at our centre, and so are pleased to be able to deliver fun and educational programs like the Youth Art Awards.”
“The teachers, students and our customers love to see what the kids come up with. It really is impressive what they can do.”
The Youth Art Awards has been a successful project which encourages local schools to submit students’ art guided by the theme ‘Colour the Rainbow’. Eight schools and community groups participated this year, with each one receiving a $200 Stockland gift card for their school and another $200 worth of art supplies.
The successful entries will be displayed in the centre until Sunday 13 October.
In line with the theme ‘Colour the Rainbow’, Stockland Riverton invites kids to experience an explosion of colour these school holidays with a number of fun events including face painting, slime making, scratch art and much more. The activities will take place from Monday to Saturday between 11am and 2pm outside Big W.
