Stockland opens 10-hectare Leppington House Park in the Willowdale community
Stockland has officially opened Leppington House Park, an expansive new 10-hectare park in the Willowdale masterplanned community, filled with kilometres of walking trails, a play space, BBQ and picnic areas, lawn area, community garden beds and European and Indigenous Heritage interpretation.
To celebrate the opening, more than 500 residents across Stockland Willowdale and Stockland Lakeside attended a community event held on Saturday 7 December, with the Mayor of Campbelltown, Councillor Darcy Lound, joining the ribbon cutting and smoking ceremony.
Stockland Senior Development Manager, Clare Roberts said the opening of Leppington House Park was a significant milestone for the community.
“We’re delighted to officially open Leppington House Park at Stockland Willowdale, which will become a place for the community to come together, relax, play and appreciate the heritage of the area.” Ms Roberts said.
“The park’s design recognises the unique character and rich history of the area that we know is important to the community. There will be something for the whole community to enjoy – whether that’s a stroll and picnic in the park, an afternoon walk along the trail, or a family BBQ while the kids use the open lawn areas.”
The community event saw residents enjoy a sausage sizzle led by the Denham Court Public School P&C Association, coffee, gelato, and a wide range of family-friendly activities including a reptile display, a sporting activation hosted by Ready Steady Go Kids and a visit from Santa and one of his elves.
Leppington House Park is located on 72 Leppington House Drive, close to Leppington and Liverpool city centres, and the existing neighbourhood shopping centre, public school, childcare centre, 35-hectare riparian corridor and open green space. Construction is also underway on a community centre, swim school and a second childcare centre.
Stockland Willowdale is located in Sydney’s south west and, once complete, will be home to more than 10,000 residents. More information on Stockland Willowdale can be found here.
