Ripley Scout Group, supported by Stockland Providence, hosted a Ripley Clean Up Australia Day event on Sunday 3 March to ‘Step Up to Clean Up’, as part of the largest volunteer clean-up event across the nation1.

Project Director of Stockland Providence David Franklin said the inaugural Ripley Scout Group hosted event strongly aligns with Stockland's dedication to environmental sustainability and community involvement.

"Initiatives like Clean Up Australia Day provide an opportunity for residents to come together and make a tangible difference in their local environment,” Mr Franklin said.

“At the event, locals worked hand-in-hand with their neighbours to create a cleaner and more sustainable environment for the current and future generations of Ripley Valley.”

Pip Kiernan, Chair of Clean Up Australia said the national event is the most practical way to educate and demonstrate waste prevention.

“By rolling up our sleeves and witnessing the sheer quantity as well as the common types of litter lining our streets, bushlands and waterways, we can gain a better insight into our own personal or household footprints on the environment,” Ms Kiernan said.

“We are always excited for new community members to join us who are yet to see what makes Clean Up Australia Day such a rewarding experience and why each year our community members keep coming back for more. It is such a special time to come together to care for and protect our environment for future generations.”2

Ripley Scouts Group Leader Andrea Finch said the aim of coming together for Clean Up Australia Day was to make a material difference in reducing litter and promoting environmental stewardship.

“We thank the Ripley Valley community for joining us. Every contribution, big or small, makes a significant impact on the health and beauty of our surroundings,” Ms Finch said.
