15 May 2023

Stockland is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Hume Bombers Football Club for the 2023 season.

The Hume Bombers are a semi-professional Australian rules football club in the Essendon District Football League and play against teams from the north-west suburbs of Melbourne.

Stockland’s sponsorship will go toward the Hume Bombers club room setup, training equipment, ground maintenance equipment, uniforms, coaches and support staff, allowing the team to focus on their season.

The training ground for the Hume Bombers is in the heart of Stockland Cloverton, the Kalkallo Recreation Reserve.

The initial partnership will cover the 2023 season, with a view to extending. Stockland Development Manager, Mathew Novak, said many people in the Cloverton community enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle, with the cricket, soccer, and netball popular due to the rich cultural diversity in Kalkallo.

“Australian rules football can be played by young girls and boys as juniors through to seniors, and we’re looking forward to giving Cloverton residents the chance to play with the Hume Bombers Football Club.

“We’re calling on residents to get involved not just for the health benefits, but for the sense of community and fun that comes with being a part of a team. We’re keen to get behind the next generation of local athletes and future champions”, said Mr Novak.

Avtar Singh, President of the Hume Bombers Football Club said the team is grateful to have the support of Stockland Cloverton for the 2023 season.

“We’re thoroughly enjoying our new home at Stockland Cloverton’s Kalkallo Recreation Reserve as our training grounds, and we’re grateful to have Stockland’s further support with equipment and facilities needed to help shape our players and the season ahead,” said Mr Singh.

Stockland Cloverton is Victoria’s largest masterplanned community, and upon completion will be home to more than 30,000 residents.

The masterplan includes over 80 hectares of open space, including the Kalkallo Recreation Reserve, which will incorporate two full-sized football fields.
