New Point Social precinct opens at Stockland Point Cook
An exciting new precinct, Point Social, has opened at Stockland Point Cook, breathing new life into the Woolworths Quadrant.
Point Social has been designed with a refreshed food offering and flexible spaces for customers, local professionals, and the community to come together to socialise, work, learn, play, and collaborate.
Visitors can enjoy a range of food and beverage options at Point Social, including Nando’s, Schnitz, and new beverage retailer ShareTea. China Bar and Toro Sushi will be opening soon.
Home entertaining inspiration is provided by House, Australia’s leading specialty homewares retailer, as well as the newly opened East West Marketplace, your go-to shopping destination for traditional, authentic, and hard-to-find ingredients from China, Japan, Korea, Thailand and Malaysia.
Stockland Point Cook Centre Manager, Dean Young said the revamped space includes areas for both quiet relaxation and larger social gatherings, a book nook, and a play space for children up to four years old.
“Point Social seamlessly connects to the new look Town Square and Point Cook Pop Up Park, which is now a permanent fixture providing a heart for external play and community events, like the annual Kaleidoscope Festival.
“Our customers not only come to the centre for their everyday essentials but also to connect with the community. In creating Point Social, we’ve been able to refine our offer at the centre to focus on what’s important to our customers and retailers,” said Mr Young.
Stockland Point Cook celebrated the grand opening of Point Social over the weekend with a Father’s Day gift workshop, a children’s art workshop, live performances from Madz Got Rich Duo and Adam Spicer, as well as a lion dance to bring good luck to the precinct thanks to East West Marketplace.
The grand opening celebrations will continue Saturday 7 September and Sunday 8 September. Visit the Stockland Point Cook website for more information.
Customers will also have the chance to win a share of $15,000 worth of prizes, including Stockland gift cards and retailer vouchers through an interactive Plinko-style game.
Public Art in Point Social
Public art has been thoughtfully incorporated into Point Social to recognise and celebrate the diverse cultures of the Point Cook community.
The new play area features artwork by Jingwen (Jina) He, celebrating the past and present of the diverse community through vibrant colours and engaging visuals.
Inspired by Point Cook’s scenic coastline, the work features local flora and fauna, and honours the RAAF Base’s historical significance with aviation-themed elements.
Two new murals in the Town Square have been painted by artists Katherine Gailer (also known as Katira) and Lucy Lucy, which celebrate diversity.
