Stockland Banksia celebrated its first Little Diggers event on Saturday 3 February, showcasing the machinery shaping the future of Banksia in Armstrong Creek.
The free event provided an opportunity for kids and families to get up close to big diggers, cranes, a roller, trucks and other machinery needed to build the new community. The kids also enjoyed a visit from the civil contractors at Winslow and Grovedale CFA’s fire truck, along with the opportunity to wear hard hats and hi-vis vests throughout the action-packed day.
Stockland Senior Development Director, Jackie Kent, said it was great to welcome the wider Geelong community to Stockland’s Banksia neighbourhood.
"The Little Diggers event at Stockland Banksia was a great way for families to see the big machinery and equipment that’s helping to construct the place they will soon call home. We were delighted to welcome people from around Geelong and the neighbouring Surf Coast communities,” said Ms Kent.
“Stockland Banksia will include a broad range of affordable and quality homes, just over 10 kilometres from Geelong’s CBD.”
Just kilometres from the neighbouring Surf Coast communities and well connected to the Geelong CBD and transport links to Melbourne, Stockland Banksia is in close proximity to schools, shops, cafes, walking trails and beaches.
