Families have fun celebrating exciting new features at The Grove

09 March 2017

Stockland’s free street party at The Grove on Saturday 4 March, was an exciting event for more than 1,000 locals and visitors who gathered to celebrate the opening of new features at Stockland’s fast-growing community at Tarneit.

A snow pit, jumping castle, face painters, balloon artists and magic tricks were among the highlights for youngsters attending the event which was held to mark the official launch of The Grove’s new Display Village, Sales and Information Centre, cafe and an innovative frog-themed playground.

Callan Ainssar, Senior Development Manager at Stockland, said he was delighted at how many people turned out for the street party.

“The Grove has gone ahead in leaps and bounds since being launched in 2015 and this street party was the perfect way to showcase how fast the community is progressing, Mr Ainssar said.

“Our first residents have moved in, new streets are taking shape and hundreds of homes are under construction.”

Guests attending the street party had an opportunity to wander through the new 19 home display village and be inspired by the latest trends and designs from some of the state’s most-awarded builders.

Meanwhile, youngsters also had fun testing out the frog-themed playground located next to the Sales and Information Centre and the Little Growling Café.

The play area is expected to become a drawcard for families across Melbourne’s west, with equipment including a viewing tower with an outlook across the community, double helix slides, trampolines, a giant lilypad swing and a climbing net.

The Grove is located 31 kilometres west of Melbourne’s CBD. The 234 hectare community, between Davis Creek and the Werribee River, will have more than 2,500 homes and over 6,000 residents upon completion.

Other features include a planned Town Centre with a supermarket and speciality stores, planned primary and secondary schools, a community centre, a sports field and a planned retirement village.

The community’s 54 hectares of open spaces will include parklands and recreational areas as well as walking trails, bike paths, fitness stations and wetlands.

The Grove recently received the highly coveted 5 Star Green Star – Communities rating from the Green Building Council of Australia. The rating signifies Australian excellence in sustainable design and environmental responsibility.
