Construction begins at Stockland Wattle Park.
Stockland has officially started construction on its new masterplanned community, Stockland Wattle Park in Tarneit.
Upon completion, Wattle Park will be home to around 2,000 residents and feature more than 800 home sites, with an impressive 2.7 kilometres of frontage along the Werribee River, ample green spaces, and proposed neighbourhood facilities.
Early civil works are now underway, preparing the site for residents to build their new homes, with first settlements expected in mid-2024.
Wattle Park is located around 33 kilometres west of Melbourne’s CBD and just over one kilometre from Stockland’s well-established Grand Central community, also in Tarneit. The 84-hectare site includes a walking trail and park along the Werribee River, as well as a proposed community centre and childcare centre.
Stockland Project Director, Ed Krushka said they’re thrilled to begin construction at Stockland Wattle Park.
“We’re looking forward to providing more opportunities for people to call Tarneit home. It’s one of the fastest growing suburbs in outer Melbourne,” said Mr Krushka.
According to the Victorian Government’s Suburban Revitalisation program, the population in Tarneit is expected to increase by 164 per cent by 2041.
“For more than 70 years, Stockland has created some of Australia’s most liveable communities. Stockland Wattle Park will cater to growing demand by providing a family-friendly and nature-inspired community, with future homeowners enjoying access to an abundance of outdoor space, a proposed sports reserve, playgrounds, and a 26-hectare conservation area.”
Wyndham City’s Climate Futures and Environment portfolio holder, Councillor Robert Szatkowski said Council was looking forward to welcoming new residents to Tarneit.
“With Stockland Wattle Park making the most of one of Wyndham’s best natural assets, the Werribee River, residents are close to and connect with nature,” said Cr Szatkowski.
Block sizes in the first release at Wattle Park will range from 199 to 516 square metres. Prices average at $347,700 for a 311 square metre block of land.1
