Announcing some exciting new retailers for Stockland Wendouree expansion in Ballarat

13 April 2018

Stockland is set to expand its retail offering in the Ballarat region with the $37 million redevelopment of Stockland Wendouree Shopping Centre opening in June.

Over the past few months Stockland Wendouree has signed on a number of new and exciting retailers with a focus on youth fashion, casual dining and everyday convenience, reaffirming its position as the largest enclosed shopping destination in the area.

Phil Newton, Stockland Development Manager, said: “We have received a great response from local and national retailers looking to open new stores at Stockland Wendouree. We are confident that, on completion, Stockland Wendouree will become the star local destination for the community to meet, eat, shop and socialise.”

As part of the redevelopment Stockland will soon open Skechers, a sought after casual and athletic shoe brand offering on-trend Footwear; with more youth fashion brands to be announced soon.

Stockland’s new laneway dining precinct with indoor and outdoor seating will feature a variety of casual dining choices including cafes and restaurants.

Melbourne restauranteur Billy’s Lakeside Restaurant, Tokyo Grill House and Sushi Sushi are already confirmed to offer customers a range of new tastes and flavours, with more eateries to be announced soon.

To assist with customers beauty needs, the centre also looks forward to welcoming Oscar Nails.

Stevie Wright, Centre Manager at Stockland Wendouree, says, “Our vision is to create the best retail shopping destination in Victoria’s central west. These improvements will offer an all new experience for locals to enjoy and will make Stockland Wendouree the place to be in Ballarat. We thank the  community for their patience and look forward to the official opening in a few months’ time.”

Upon completion the centre will feature over 100 retailers and 6,700 square metres of new retail floor space.

At the heart of upgrade will be a new full-line 3,800 square metre Woolworths, which will offer the latest fresh food innovations, including an artisan delicatessen and on site bakery.

Stockland will also open an inclusive playground designed in conjunction with the Touched by Olivia Foundation, to ensure children of all abilities can play together and an additional 50 new car parking spaces taking the total to over 1,200.

The Stockland Wendouree redevelopment is expected to generate approximately 500 jobs during construction and 250 local retail jobs in perpetuity and to be complete by mid-2018.

Stockland Wendouree is currently Ballarat’s largest fully enclosed sub-regional shopping centre located 4 kilometres west of the Ballarat CBD and is anchored by Kmart, Coles and Woolworths.
