Stockland celebrates Diwali with free community events
Stockland Highlands and Stockland Katalia, located in Melbourne’s north, this week hosted two free community events to celebrate Diwali, with more than 200 residents joining the colourful festivities.
Diwali is a religious festival lasting for five days and symbolises the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
Highlands residents enjoyed delicious food trucks, Bollywood dances, fire-twirling performances, henna artists, and a DJ that kept the celebrations going. At Katalia, residents were treated to delicious Indian delicacies, children’s craft activities, and interactive performances from traditional dancers.
Stockland’s Development Director, James Hawker, said as a leading creator of connected communities, Stockland takes pride in hosting community events that bring people together.
“Stockland’s Diwali celebrations are fast becoming a community favourite. We’re always delighted to see residents join us for this vibrant event each year, and it gives people an opportunity to learn more about the cultural significance of this festival,” Mr Hawker said.
“We have a busy calendar of events for our residents at Highlands and Katalia, and we look forward to hosting our residents as we enter the festive season.”
