Construction of the $13.5 million state-of-the-art clubhouse is now underway at Halcyon Highlands, a land lease community designed for over 55s in Mickleham, in Melbourne’s north.

Designed by award-winning architects ClarkeHopkinsClarke and built by Insitu Group, the new clubhouse will provide home owners with a range of resort-quality facilities that support an active lifestyle and community connections.

The clubhouse will provide home owners with access to facilities like a modern lounge and bar, library, games equipment and gold-class style cinema, as well as a wellness precinct with premium sports facilities including a heated pool, pickleball court, fully equipped gym and golf simulator.

Halcyon Highlands lies within Stockland’s established and award winning masterplanned community, Stockland Highlands, with access to schools, shops, major sporting facilities, nature reserves and playgrounds. The community is also close to transport links including Craigieburn station, Tullamarine Airport, the Hume Highway, and bus services.

Once complete, Halcyon Highlands will comprise around 239 architecturally designed homes, each with a 7-star energy rating and a 3.9-kilowatt solar system as standard.

General Manager of Stockland Halcyon Victoria, James Westh, said today marked an exciting milestone for Halcyon Highlands.

“We understand that Victorians over 55 years of age are looking for more than just a home – they want to experience an active and dynamic lifestyle close to friends and family, with quality amenities close by,” Mr Westh said.

“The new clubhouse will provide home owners with a range of premium facilities that cater to group sports and recreation, social activities like the cinema, or a space to relax in the wellness precinct, meaning there’s something for everyone.

“We look forward to seeing the Halcyon Highlands community enjoy the space once we complete construction of the clubhouse, which is expected in early 2026,” Mr Westh added.

David and Tina Michael will soon move into Halcyon Highlands because of its central location, design of the homes and the knowledgeable support of the staff. But it was the strong sense of community that especially stood out.

“Community is everything to us – being part of a supportive network of friends who share the same interests and values is central our lives,” Mr Michael said.

“We were excited when we saw the development plans at Halcyon Highlands, but the warmth and honesty of the staff made us feel at home, and then meeting many of the other homeowners only deepened that feeling of community.

“From the moment we started exploring Halcyon Highlands, we absolutely knew we had found the right place. For us, the new clubhouse will be an incredible space to connect with others, relax, and just be ourselves in a place that feels like an extension of home, and with a sense of belonging to a broader community.”

Halcyon Highlands is one of Stockland’s five land lease communities in Victoria:

  • Halcyon Berwick, Halcyon Jardin and Halcyon Evergreen in Melbourne’s south east
  • Halcyon Horizon in Armstrong Creek near Geelong
