Love and deuce for the ‘legends’ from Landing

Ash Barty watch out! Here come ‘The Legends’, Halcyon Landing’s gun group of lady tennis players.

The group play a number of times per week and according to organiser Jill Close they have a great time while still keeping active.

“Most of us played when we were younger but stopped while we were working and raising families,” Jill said.

“But now we have no excuse because we have a lovely tennis court right here on our doorstep.”

Jill said ‘The Legends’ had about a dozen ladies and they participated in coaching sessions as well as matchplay throughout the week.

“It’s just a great opportunity to play and to also socialise with each other,” she said.

“We even have our own Facebook group where we talk about tennis and other funny things.”

“We have a lot of fun and we all say that we wouldn’t be playing tennis if we didn’t have the facilities we have here.”
