Banana Bread

Banana bread: it’s the foodie staple everyone loves. Whether you have it as a delightful afternoon snack or scoff it by the slice for lunch, this heavenly and comforting treat will be a household hit. Packed with flavour and best served warm with butter, our easy-to-follow banana bread recipe will keep family and friends coming back for more. Try it for yourself!

Method:

Preheat oven to 180° Celsius.

Grease a baking tin with olive oil spray.

Mash 4 ripe bananas in a shallow bowl.

Place bowl to one side.

In a separate bowl, add sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla extract.

Combine with an electric beater until smooth in consistency.

Next, add mashed banana to the bowl.

Then, add flour, baking soda and salt to the bowl.

Beat ingredients until combined. Be careful not to over-mix.

Spoon mixture into baking tin.

Cut half a banana lengthways and place on top of mixture.

Place tray into oven for 40 minutes, or until golden-brown on top.

Serve warm with butter.

  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup caster sugar, sifted
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
