1. Tell us about your store

What started as a humble boutique in Sydney's Her Majesty's Arcade back in 1959 has evolved beyond our belief. A family business that grew from the desire to provide stylish clothes for the mature woman. With decades of experience, Fays has built its reputation as a beloved and trusted name in fashion. Today, in the hands of a new generation, we continue our commitment to bring you the best shopping experience, supported by an excellent level of customer service and a variety of great merchandise from some of our longstanding labels, who like us, understand and appreciate a woman's body.

In a marketplace keen to cater only to the young, Fays stands alone in its offer of affordable quality women's clothing. We provide colourful, classic and modern designs, in a range of fabulous prints that are easy to wear and care for.

2. What feedback do you get from your customers?

Our customers are always telling us that whenever they are dressed in an outfit they purchased from us, whether it be for a special occasion or just lunch with the girls they are always complimented on how lovely they look.

3. What do you love most about your job?

Meeting interesting people would have to be on the top of my list. When I meet a visitor from overseas or interstate, I love to find out what their plans are while they are here. Sharing information about some of our great restaurants and all the things they must do and see here in Sydney gives me so much joy. I love this city and want them to return home raving about their wonderful time in Sydney.

4. What motivates you?

When a woman comes in with a specific idea of what looks good on them, unaware that over time their bodies and fashion has changed, I encourage them to try something different that I truly believe would suit their shape better. To hear them say "I would have never though this would suit me" gives me such pleasure and to then see them walk out of the store with a spring in their step makes me smile. I don't consider coming to Fays each day as "going to work". Instead, I prefer to think of it as seeing familiar faces and making new friends.
